The present economic situation is like springtime. Winter is letting go of its grip and it’s time to be thinking about the future. It’s time again to consider next year’s harvest and decide what we’re going to plant.
Volpi is being structured to maximize on speed and adaptability in our markets. We believe markets value our ability to react to unplanned and unanticipated needs. Can you be quick and can you get it right? It’s conceptually simple, but how do we make it happen? The challenge is to optimize each step from request to deliverable and not miss a beat in the coordination of each step. You’ve got to improve your ability to coordinate and improve your ability to execute.
Improving coordination starts with people. If you want a quick and adaptable company, you know two important attributes of your people. They have to be resourceful and know what they’re doing. They also must be eager to apply themselves to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges, again and again. You cultivate and create a garden with these kinds of people.
Coordination is also improved when you can influence how and when individual steps are executed. From the standpoint of Volpi management, this means less outsourcing. It means growing existing know-how and better integrating how things connect to each other.
With this strategy in mind, Volpi has taken delivery of two high speed, CNC lathes. These machines allow us to be even more adaptable to our customer’s needs. Along with the CNC milling machines we invested in last year, we have the machining resources to respond to the full spectrum of our customer’s needs, quickly! We make the chips during the day or at night.
Of course, we still want our customers to see that planning on their end is of value to their desired outcome. On the other hand, we understand that we are in an environment where plans need to change quickly. It can’t be avoided. With this reality in mind,
